The Compassionate Friends Service

Sunday, December 13th, 2015, we will have our annual Compassionate Friends Service for those who have experienced the death of a child, and those who support them. The service will being at 7:00PM in our church sanctuary with a candle lighting ceremony.

The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting ceremony unites family and friends from around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon.

“The Compassionate Friends is about transforming the pain of grief into the elixir of hope. It takes people out of the isolation society imposes on the bereaved and lets them express their grief naturally. With the shedding of tears, healing comes. And the newly bereaved get to see people who have survived and are learning to live and love again.”Simon Stephens, founder of The Compassionate Friends

The Worldwide Candle Lighting Ceremony is now believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe.
