Editor’s Note: All members and friends of FCUCC should have received the following letter by mail. It is repeated here for those who may have missed it. You will also receive a letter from Church Council communicating to you the process members have outlined for the Search and Call Process.
As many of you already know, I have notified the Church Council that I will be retiring July 1, 2019.
That’s over a year away so it will be a “long good-bye” which I may need more than all of you!
The reason for my resignation is simple: I am ready to retire and spend sacred time with family and just plain sit and enjoy the beauty of Ball Lake.
Council is well positioned to begin the search and call process, which will help ensure a strong candidate is selected – one with lots of energy who can lead this congregation over the next many years.
Paul and I have been blessed to serve with you in this time and place, and I pray that God will continue to bless your work and ministry.
For now Paul and I plan to remain at the lake, so I will ask all of you to help us maintain good bounderies.
That means if you see us somewhere, say hello but please no comments about church. That will help your new pastor get off to the best start possible.
I have loved being your minister and will continue to love that role for the next year. Then I will retire, moving into the next phase of the journey, missing you all.
