DESCRIPTION:The ONA Committee invites everyone to settle in after worship on March 30 for a screening of Fish Out of Water. This documentary follows the filmmaker as she interviews various pastors & scholars to better understand the “clobber passages” from the Bible used to condemn LGBTQ+ persons theologically and marginalize them socially and politically. What she learns can be life-saving for those who struggle to reconcile their identities with the faith that so often is used to hurt them. \nAt just 60-minutes and appropriate for just about every age\, this documentary is a great introduction to “Biblical self-defense” for LGBTQ+ folks and their allies. We’ll provide pizza for lunch\, and Pastors Nikki and January will be with us to answer questions and facilitate discussion after the movie. \n
