This year the pastoral team welcomes you to explore and claim your faith. For Lent, we will be working to untangle the twisted faith some of us have grown up with and are trying to unpack.

Our Lenten theme is “Twisted Faith.” During our Ash Wednesday service, on February 18 at 6 pm, we will kick off a series of special services that will open up dialogue about the ways faith and Scripture have been twisted.

Following Ash Wednesday, weekly services will be on Thursdays at 6 pm from February 26 through March 26. We’ll touch on the ways that faith has been used to abuse and dominate. Topics include faith and slavery, faith and creation, and faith and colonialism, to name a few. After exploring how scriptures have been twisted, we will explore interpretation(s) of the text that offer liberation and life abundant.
