National Church Leadership Institute #NCLI15 Boston

ncli15-boston-ucc-conference“The headlines tell a story of decline and despair, but cultural trendlines paint a picture of possibility.”

In Boston, Massachusetts, on August 10th through the 13th, The United Church of Christ (UCC), along with The Center for Progressive Renewal is thrilled to bring together a group of the nation’s most innovative thinkers and practitioners for #NCLI15. You’ll hear from them in energizing keynotes, smaller Learning Community sessions about the five trendlines and brass tacks workshops.

But what is a trendline? Headlines tend to be alarmist and scary–the worst events happening at any given time. Trendlines, on the other hand, help us see a different picture…a brighter future for the church.

Trendlines featured for this year’s event are Local Food Movement, Do-It-Yourself, The Cloud, Sharing Economy and Crowdsourcing.

Attendees will learn about the trendlines in smaller groups called Learning Communities. Individuals will stay with his or her Community throughout the conference. Learning Communities are a way for you to feel camaraderie and community in the midst of a larger group, like a neighborhood within a large urban space.

Pre-conference Intensives will take place on Monday, August 10th, at Hebrew College, 160 Herrick Road Newton Centre, MA 02459, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can choose one track and learn about that topic throughout the day.

Note that he pre-conference Intensives are a separate registration. When you click to register, be sure you check the pre-conference option to add it to your registration!

Conference Intensives this year will be Media Training for Faith Leaders, The Story of Giving, Self-Care and Prophetic Leadership, A Coaching Approach to Ministry, and Make Your Building a Ministry.

Attendees are sure to have a blast as they re-imagine the church and build a more just and generous future!
